Mock exams exercise begins for 5th & 8th class

Lahore: With the rumors of leakage of papers, a mock exercise for class 5^th and class 8^th to train the aspirants as well as teachers for annual exams 2017 started under the command of Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) on Monday.

Intially there were the reports regarding the leakage of assessment tests from different examination centres in the provincial metropolis.

The mock papers of Mathematics for Class 5th and English for Class 8th were held on the first day.

Large number of school principals told media sources on the condition of privacy that they were given the papers by hand and they were asked to get the similar photocopied keeping in view the strength of students in their respective institutes.

They added this led to the leakage of the question papers.

“Also the schools had to bear the expenditures of photocopying the papers”, the principals said and added the onus was on the PEC to make sure that the papers were not leaked.

The Chief Executive Officer of PEC Dr Nasir Iqbal Malik while explaining that there was nothing to worry regarding the leakage of question papers as this was a mock exercise as well as an exam for learning and not an exam of learning.
