Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has look over the scheme and also the syllabus for the upcoming CSS exams 2016 and onwards.

According to the press release, FPSC has informed the applicants of CSS Competitive exams that syllabus is being changed after identifying the requirement to arrange the subjects and also syllabus of CSS Exam, which were last reviewed in year 1981, along with the developing international trends and for getting talented and quality individual for the civil service.

As per the modified scheme of subjects, the applicants of CSS Competitive exams are required to solve the papers of 1200 marks in the following compulsory as well as elective subjects.

Applicants are required to attempt Compulsory subjects of 600 marks and these subjects will consists of English Essay, English (Precis and Composition), General Science and Ability, Current Affairs, Pakistan Affairs, Islamic Studies or Comparative Study of Major Religions (For Non-Muslims applicants) while each compulsory subject carry 100 marks.

On the other hand, from elective subject section applicants are required to select elective subjects of 600 marks from the following groups according to the rules that given below:

Group One

The applicants can choose one subject of 200 marks from Accountancy and Auditing, Economics, Computer Science, Political Science and International Relations

Group Two

Applicants can select a subject of 200 marks or two subjects of 100 marks each from Physics (200 marks), Chemistry (200 marks), Applied Mathematics (100 marks), Pure Mathematics (100 marks), Statistics (100 marks) and Geology (100 marks).

Group Three

From this optional group of subjects applicants can select one subject of 100 marks from Business Administration, Public Administration, Governance and Public Policies, Town Planning as well as Urban-Management.

Group Four

From this group applicants can choose one subject of 100 marks from History of Pakistan and India, Islamic History and Culture, British History, European History and History of USA.

Group Five

One subject of 100 marks can be selected from Gender Studies, Environmental Sciences, Agriculture and Forestry, Botany, Zoology, English Literature and Urdu Literature.

Group six

From this group candidates can choose one subject of 100 marks from Law, Constitutional Law, International Law, Muslim Law and Jurisprudence, Mercantile Law, Criminology and Philosophy.

Group Seven

One subject of 100 marks can be selected from Journalism and Mass Communication, Psychology, Geography, Sociology, Anthropology, Punjabi, Sindhi, Pushto, Balochi, Persian and Arabic.

CCS exams 2016 will be held from 18th February 2016 onwards. Though, notice for online applications will be allotted in last week of September.
