UET is responsible for conducting ECAT test every year. Annually thousands of candidates take this test to get admission in well-known engineering universities. ECAT test normally held in August while UET its schedule in July just after the inter exams. Mainly ECAT test held on Saturday and Sunday and its result will be announce on Sunday after 6 days. After ECAT test takers can also check the answer key as UET published it on evening of test day. This year 2026, UET will be announce ECAT test date sheet in July and test schedule will be decide in end days of July. The ECAT date sheet 2026 will be uploaded at this page.
The boards generally complete the intermediate exams in July and after that UET Lahore issues the schedule of ECAT test. All the students who want to get admission in engineering college or universities are bound to pass the ECAT test held by the University of Engineering and Technology. The date sheet for the ECAT test is declared one month earlier.
Engineering College Admission Test (ECAT) is organized to provide admission to students intending to pursue higher studies in the field of engineering and University of Engineering and Technology has the responsibility to organize the ECAT test for all the public sector institutions of Punjab province. After successfully completing the intermediate exams under FSc Pre-engineering or equivalent education aspirants can apply for higher studies on passing the ECAT test. Ever year UET Lahore organizes the exams and based on four (04) subjects; Physics, Chemistry, English and Maths. The pattern of test is based on the criteria set by the respective Universities & Colleges.
The sections of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English are included in the standardized ECAT format while English contents can by changed according to the rules of respective university. For example the ECAT format for UET Lahore is different than that of NUST ECAT format.
