In 1977 the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education BISE Bahawalpur starts functioning as a supervising authority and Punjab government is supervising the board. it has command over Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan district. Every year regular and private students of Bahawalpur division get registration of the board for secondary and higher secondary exams.

It has many organizational and administrative powers and policy making and curriculum development are the functions of ministry of education. Candidates can also get one or two chances if they may fail in the annual exams.
