NUML University Eligibility Criteria

Before starting their application process, students are advised to check the eligibility criteria of their respective program from this page. We have separately provided the NUML Islamabad eligibility criteria of each academic level in the following:

Undergraduate Programs Eligibility Criteria:

• Inter/ HSSC or equivalent qualification with at least 45% to 60% marks from an HEC recognized institute.
• The marks percentage is same for A-level candidates, an IBCC equivalence certificate is necessary.

Master’s Programs Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must have completed their undergraduate/ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum GPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 or 50% marks in the numbering system.
• Selection in the candidate’s desired program will be dependent on the availability of seats, merit based on academic qualification, valid GRE International / NTS / NUML devised GAT- General Score.
• Applicants with valid GRE International/ GAT-General from NTS will have to pass the written/ subjective section of NUML GAT-G to secure admission.
• NUML GAT-G will be conducted by the relevant department of the university.

PhD Program Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates with MS/M Phil Degree (18 years of education with 6 research credit hours) in relevant discipline from an HEC recognized University with minimum 3.0 out of 4.0 CGPA under semester system or 1st Division in case of annual system.
• Selection in PhD programs will be subject to availability of seats, merit based on academic qualification, valid GRE International / NTS / NUML devised GAT- subject score and interview.
• Applicants with valid GRE International/ GAT-Subject from NTS will have to pass a written/ subjective portion of NUML GAT-S (as per schedule of respective Faculties) to secure admission.
• Candidates who qualify for interview will have to submit and present a Purpose Statement of 1500–2000 words (inclusive of title of research, intended field, potential research and passion for area of research).
• For Management Sciences PhD programs, candidates who have completed 30 credit hours of coursework in the case of professional degrees at master's level, such as MBA and MS in Project Management, are eligible.

NUML University Application Process

The whole comprehensive method to complete NUML admission process has been given below: 

• Go to the NUML University’s admission website and apply online. Make sure to attach scanned copies of your passport-sized photo (with a blue background) and other documents as mentioned in the NUML online admission form.
• On one admission form, you can choose preferences within the same faculty. Your first choice will have the entry test, and if not selected, your application will be considered for the next priority based on merit. 
• If you have priorities in different programs, you'll need to attend an interview for each program. Admission depends on merit and seat availability.
• The admission processing fee is Rs. 2000/- which cannot be refunded.
• If you want to choose priorities in another faculty, you'll need a separate admission form and have to pay a separate processing fee. Other rules and conditions will stay the same.
• Prioritizing isn't allowed for MS/M Phil/PhD and Functional level programs.
• Incomplete application forms or applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.

NUML Admission Test, 2025

The NUML entry test serves as a pivotal selection process designed to identify qualified candidates seeking admission. A NUML entry test mainly comprises multiple-choice questions (MCQs), structured into three sections tailored to respective programs. Candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks across these sections to qualify. The test rigorously evaluates applicants' knowledge and aptitude, ensuring that only the most capable individuals proceed to start their excellent academic journey at NUML.
