Universities in Latvia generally offer accommodation on condition that you have already registered or will be registered as a student in these institutes at the beginning of the Accommodation Period and remains registered student throughout the accommodation period.
In spring, semester Dormitories open in January while for autumn semester admissions commence in August.

Home Student Apartments
Home Student Apartments are situated around the universities. They are renovated luxuriously according to high standards to deliver a comfortable and lavish stay. Single separate rooms are provided to the students with shared common area. These types of accommodations offer stylish furniture, free Wifi and weekly cleaning service. 175 euro per month including all utilities is the minimum cost of hiring these apartments.
Home Student Hotels
Home Student Hotels are located near the universities and provides all necessary comforts for students in affordable prices. These hotels are located at a suitable distance from f the railway station and the city centre. This type of accommodation also offers Free Wi-Fi and weekly cleaning services. Here you can rent single, double and triple rooms in the form of studios including a private kitchen and a bathroom. Price range starts from 160 euro per month including all facilities.
Riga Style Hostel
Riga Style Hostel is located in the centre of Riga, close to the Railway station, the Central Bus station, and shopping centers. There is a park at the end of the street. The hostel’s kitchen is wide like a cafeteria and the common room is equipped with TV & DVD. Other facilities include, huge comfortable leather furniture, indoor sport activities all set in an ambient environment. Price ranges are 250-300 euro for I single occupant.
Riga Academic Guest Houses
These guest houses are located at a 10-minute drive from Riga Old town and RT University. Single or double Apartments are available in the newly renovated Guest Houses. These apartments are available for International students of all universities, so you will have international and exchange students from different universities of Riga as neighbors to make new friends and connections.
Room rates:
300 EUR + utilities (utilities: 80-110 EURO per month, per apartment) are available for 1-2 persons with kitchen and private WC/shower. Other facilities are fridge, kettle, tableware, microwave, Wi-Fi with towel and bed sheet changing 3 times a month. The students are allowed to share the apartment with someone, to cut the cost on condition that the student has to find a roommate by himself.
The most popular University of Latvia (UL) offers two student hotels for International students: “Prima hostel” and”Reznas student hotel”. Both of them are located in Riga, Reznas street. There is a well-developed public transportation available to and fro the hostel. The hostel "PRIMA" is located in a 9 floor building which can accommodate 360 tenants. The price depends on the number of beds and tenants living in the room.
PRIMA offers four types of rooms and two types of accommodation periods:
Long term accommodation:
Triple room (EURO 100 per month, shared with 2 other people)
Double room (EURO 130 per month, shared with other person)
Double room (EURO 150 per month, shared with other person)
Single room (EURO 270 per month)
Short term accommodation for one month:
Only for students who will be accepted for studies at the University of Latvia.
1) Single room EURO 15 per night 9th floor.
2) Double room EURO 10 per night 9th floor.
3) Any free place EURO 7 per night.
Hence different universities offer different kinds of accommodations .It all depends upon your budget, therefore, you should arrange and accommodation prior the semester and for this you have to take advice from the university’s concerned department or from a good international study consultant in your home country.
