Bachelors’ Degree Program

Public Sector Universities:

Private Sector Universities:

For Ph.D. Study Program

Public Sector Universities:

Public Sector universities of Austria charge up to 700 EURs per semester.

Private Sector Universities:

Up to 500 EURs per semester tuition fee charged by private sector universities of Austria.

Pre Departure Costs

After Departure Cost

Accommodation:

Accommodation is one of the main challenges come to see for study abroad journey. In some cases, students are asked to show proof of accommodation before traveling. But, most students are asked to arrange the accommodation after arrival. An average monthly cost of 400 EURs is required to arrange your accommodation in Austria.

Residence Permit and Other Documents:

Students have to apply for a residence permit for having to stay up to 6 months in Austria. The average fee of this residence permit ranges from 80 to 100 EURs.   

Tuition Fees:

For Ph.D. studies, students are asked to pay 500 EURs per semester fee at Private Sector University and up to 700 EURs is per semester fee for Public Sector University.

How To Get Austrian Student Visa

Types Of Visa

C-Type Visa:

This is also called a short stay visa. If students are going to apply for short courses of less than 90 days duration then they will be restricted until C-Type Visa.  

D-Type Visa:

In case students are going to apply for full-time studies for years. Then they have to apply for an Austrian residence permit. Students will travel through C-type Visa or Schengen visa and arriving at their destination they will be called to submit or apply residence permit within the validity of C-Type Visa. 

Documents Required for Visa

Following documents are required to apply for Student Visa/ Residence Permit:

  1. Acceptance Letter:

A valid acceptance letter from a recognized institute is required.

  1. Application Form:

Duly filled or correctly filed visa application form is required.

  1. Cover Letter:

In some cases, you have to submit a cover letter which will show your background, your interest, and profile to study in Austria.

  1. Academic Certificates:

Previous academic records in the relevant fields or subject are required to show.

  1. Updated Resume:

An updated CV may also be required to show.

  1. Financial Statement:

If the applicants are above the age of 24 then around 9500 Euros are required to show for living there in Austria. On the other hands, if applicants are below the 1ge of 24 years then 5258 Euros are required to show as living expenses.

  1. Health Insurance:

You have to buy travel insurance (if required)

  1. Proof of Airfares:

Proof of airfare will also be required at the time of visa application submission.

  1. Travel/ Identity Documents:

Travel document i.e. passport and identity documents i.e. ID card or photographs are required to show without which the application won’t proceed. 

  1. Visa Fee Receipt:

Visa fee receipt as proof of paid fee is required to show.

Application Process:

Once, you will submit your application you will get the visa after 10 working days. In case, your application will be considered as incomplete or any other issue will come to see then your application process can be delayed for some days.  

Visa Fee:

For both types of visa i.e. C-Type visa or D-Type Visa fee ranges from 80 EURs to 100 EURs.

Living and Accommodation Options Austria

Job Seeker Visa/Work Permit

After study students are not allowed to get jobs in Austria. However, they are allowed to apply separately for jobs if they are interested to make Austria as their employment destination.

For this purpose Job seeker, visa is provided to the international graduates. The visa is valid for up to six months and international graduates are asked to find jobs within this duration.

In case students find a job within this duration then they have to apply for Work Permit or Permanent Residence for living and working in Austria. But, unfortunately, if international graduates or masters do not get the employment opportunity then they are not allowed to extend this job seeker visa.

Fixed-Term Employment

Fixed term employment is for a fixed time duration. Applicants who listed under the following categories are called to apply for Fixed Term Employment:

  1. Seasonal Worker

  4. Intra-corporate Transfer

Following are the requirements to apply for permanent immigration or Red-White-Red card and Temporary Residence:

  1. Applicants who want to apply for permanent immigration or Red-White-Red card must make it sure that their monthly income is according to the required criteria.
  2. If you are a single person then your monthly income must be equal to 933.06 EURs.
  3. For couples, monthly income must be equal to 1,398.97 EURs.
  4. If you have a child then the additional amount for each child must be equal to 143.97 EURs for monthly living charges.
  5. Applicants are also asked to cover health insurance.
  6. Reasonable accommodation for you and your family (if applicable) is required to show.
  7. Applicants must not be a threat for local territory if there are going to apply for permanent immigration or Red-White-Red card.

Citizenship

Austria offers citizenship in following of the conditions:

  1. Citizenship by birth
  2. Citizenship by descent
  3. Citizenship by Naturalizations

Following are the general requirements to apply for citizenship in any case:

  1. Duly filled and signed application form by the applicants. If applicants are under 18 age then application form must be signed by parents.
  2. Duly filled and signed affidavit for adults and affidavit for minors.
  3. An original birth certificate is required to attach with the application form.
  4. Original birth certificates of parents
  5. If you are going to apply for replacement application of a stolen or lost certificate then a copy of the certificate of citizenship may be required.
  6. If you are going to apply for name change application then a copy of citizenship may also be required
  7. Original citizenship certificate of parents is required if you are going to apply on behalf of your parents.
  8. Original marriage certificate or divorce certificate of parents with apostle is required.
  9. Original valid permanent residence certificate or status of applicants is required
  10. Original valid permanent residence certificate or status of parents (for some cases) is required
  11. Proof of current residence with a primary address is required.
  12. The consular fee in cash is required to submit at the time to apply for citizenship
