Govt Degree College Women Raiwind, Lahore releases several merit lists based on Punjab Online College Admission System (OCAS) regarding its Intermediate and Bachelor degrees. All those students are listed in these merit lists in the first, second and even third place based on their academic marks and applied entrance exams. The lists become progressively published after the application deadline to make sure all the seats available are assigned in a sensible and efficient method. How the Merit List is Created & Timeline
The applications to get into the college are made online through the OCAS portal normally between mid-July and early August. After the end of application, the system generates an automated calculation of merit scores using academic achievements and tests. Around one to two weeks after that the first merit list is posted. In case the seats are not filled during the first round, then second and third Merit lists are issued after every week or until the next available seats. These lists are also displayed publicly on the notice boards and its website as well.
Cutoffs & Trends
Cutoff scores on the merit differ per program. Major branches of science such as Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, ICS and BS sciences normally have additional merit scores whereas subjects in arts and commerce have lower cut-offs. The college does not publicize exact cut off percentages, but they are usually of the same vein as other government colleges in Lahore with stream in science usually requiring marks to be placed in the half forties percentile and arts or commerce at around the top sixties. Other categories covered by reserved quota which are like minorities or differently-abled students might have slightly lax cut off requirements. The potential students can follow the portal OCAS and official announcements of the college to stay current.
