VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT — INSTITUTE OF REGIONAL STUDIES (IRS)

The Institute of Regional Studies (IRS), an Islamabad-based autonomous and non-profit think tank, invites applications from highly motivated and dynamic individuals for the following positions on an open-merit basis.

## Available Positions

1. Research Officer

  • BPS Equivalent: BPS-18 (01 Post)

  • Age Limit: Up to 40 years old on the closing date.

  • Qualifications & Experience:

    • Masters / M.Phil. in Social Sciences (preferably in International Relations, Political Science, Pakistan Studies, Area Studies, Peace Studies, or Strategic Studies) from a reputable university.

    • Minimum 5 years of research experience at a reputable university or organization.

    • At least 5 research papers published in reputable National or International Research Journals.

2. Assistant Research Officer

  • BPS Equivalent: BPS-17 (02 Posts)

  • Age Limit: Up to 35 years old on the closing date.

  • Qualifications & Experience:

    • Masters / M.Phil. in Social Sciences (preferably in International Relations, Political Science, Pakistan Studies, Area Studies, Peace Studies, or Strategic Studies) from a reputable university.

    • Prior research experience, research-oriented training, and publications will be a distinct advantage.

    • Preference will be given to candidates possessing distinguished academic credentials, including graduates of top-ranking universities.

## Terms & Benefits

  • Tenure: Initially for a period of six months, extendable up to one year, with the possibility of regularization based on satisfactory performance.

  • Structure: Positions are non-pensionable.

  • Benefits: Employees are entitled to a gratuity after completing five years of service, leave encashment, and annual government-notified increases in pay and allowances.
