UVAS organizes 2 days book fair

Lahore: On Wednesday, the central library of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore organized a 2 days annual book fair 2017 in the City Campus on Wednesday.

As per the issued press release, the vice chancellor of UVAS Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha inaugurated the book fair which will continue till today (Thursday) whereas the Librarian Muhammad Aslam, Prof Dr Asim Aslam, Ms Abeeda Zia as well as the large number of aspirants, faculty members and also the book sellers among others attended the book fair.

Twelve stalls were establish at the fair, book sellers as well as the publishers displayed a lot of books, comprising of livestock, literature, Information Technology, social sciences as well as the books on the related fields of veterinary sciences such as anatomy and histology, animal nutrition, clinical medicine and surgery, dairy technology, public health, fisheries aquaculture, food sciences human nutrition, livestock production, microbiology, parasitology, pathology, poultry production, wildlife as well as ecology, biochemistry biotechnology, pharmaceutical science, leather as well as fiber technology, statistics and computer science, environmental science and policy management etc.

The Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) also established a stall and exhibited handicraft varieties.

The vice chancellor of UVAS Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha visited large numbers of stalls and talked to the book sellers as well as the aspirants regarding the significance of book reading.

While talking to media sources, the Librarian Muhammad Aslam said that book fair was targeted to provide a platform to promote book reading habit among the aspirants, the researchers as well as the teachers and it will assist them in increasing their knowledge.

“The book is one of the best sources of knowledge and enlightens the minds of the young generation,” he added.
