The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is allocating 23,800 computer tablets through its Pakistan Reading Project to the teachers of government schools of grades 1 and 2 to support the teacher training as well as enhanced the reading instruction in classrooms crosswise Pakistan.

The Mission Director of USAID John Groarke said that “the today’s distribution of computer tablets is an investment in as well as the appreciation of the teaching force that is making the future of Pakistan”.

Every computer tablet that is distributed is configured along with the applications as well as tools like teacher training modules, daily lesson plans, virtual mentoring videos, plus the audio lessons to assist the teachers in enhancing their instruction as well as the literacy levels of children in their classrooms.

The USAID-funded Pakistan Reading Project is approximately a $165 million project which is designed to support the provincial as well as the local departments of education to enhance the reading abilities of primary school children in the entire state.
