Sargodha: University of Sargodha (UoS) has announced the results of BA/BSc annual exams 2016.
As per the result announced by the Controller of Examinations Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Chaudhry, rural candidates clinched most of the positions, whereas girls seemed to have performed as compared to boys.
Total number of candidates appeared in the exams was 28,119 out of which 11,241 were declared pass. Though, the overall passing percentage of the candidates was remained at 40.06%. In BA exams, 19,413 candidates appeared out of which 6,887 were declared pass and the passing percentage remained at 35.52%.
In BSc exams, 8,706 candidates appeared out of which 4,354 were declared successful and the overall passing percentage for BSc candidates remained at 50.23%. The number of girls sitting in the exams was 16,333 whereas 11,786 were boys.

Asma Kausar secured first position in the BA/BSc examination by obtaining 671 marks.
In the BA exam, Nasir Rafique, a student of Government Postgraduate College, Bhakkar obtained 641 marks and clicnhed first position; Kiran Iqbal of Superior College, Bhalwal got 634 marks and clicnhed second position; whereas the third position was shared by Iqra Younas of Millat College, Jhang and private candidate from Sargodha Ume Ruqayya by obtaining 612 marks.

In BSc exams, Asma Kausar of the Government College for Women, Kallur Kot clinched first position by obtaining 671 marks, Iqra Mubeen of Punjab College of Science, Sargodha click second position with 655 marks and Punjab College of Science Jauharabad student Rabia Aftab obtained 654 marks and stood 3rd.
The Vice Chancellor of University of Sargodha Prof Dr Muhammad Zahoorul Hassan Dogar awarded cash prizes of Rs30, 000 to the first position holder, Rs20, 000 to second while Rs10, 000 to third along with shields and merit certificates.
