Karachi, The Registrar, University of Karachi (KU), Kaleem Raza Khan, on Sunday said that admission to BE and BS (including first and third year and masters) for the academic session 2011 would begin from Tuesday (tomorrow).

The admission forms could be available at a cost of Rs1,000 from UBL Branch, Silver Jubilee Gate, KU. The interested candidates should submit the form at the admission counter located at the Silver Jubilee Gate.

The admissions are offered under the aptitude test policy in various departments, he said. The disciplines include Chemical Engineering, Environmental Studies, Applied Physics, Computer Science, Business Administration, Commerce, Public Administration and Bio Technology. Meanwhile, admissions in BS (Third Year and Masters) are offered in Applied Physics, Environmental Studies, Bio Technology, Computer Science, Business and Public Administration, he added.

CSS preparatory, English language classes: The Director, Students’ Guidance, Counselling, Placement, and Overseas Examination Bureau, University of Karachi (KU), Dr Junaid Siddiqui, on Sunday announced that admission to preparation classes of Central Superior Services (CSS) and English Language Proficiency Course would start from Monday, October 11, 2010 (today).

The interested candidates could avail the admission/registration forms from office of Students’ Guidance, Counselling, Placement and Overseas Examination Bureau, located at Silver Jubilee Gate, KU, he said.

The forms are available at Rs50 and it could be obtain from October 11 till 28 from 09:30am to 12:30pm, he also said. The candidates who have completed their gradations (with at least second division) are eligible to take part in the preparation classes of CSS comprising 110 seats.

He added that the course duration is four-and-a-half months and classes would start from November 01, 2010. The classes would last from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. Meanwhile, candidates, who have cleared intermediate, could take admissions in English language course, Siddiqui said.

The duration of language course is three months and classes would start from November 15 lasting from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. The Arts and Visual Centre, Department of Arts would be venue of all classes, he said.
