UHS Lahore issues first merit list for admission in MBBS program

Lahore, The first merit list for admission in MBBS in public sector medical colleges of Punjab province has been issued by the University of Health Sciences (UHS) on Saturday. This year the merit has been raised to 86.1818 while last year merit was 84.3615.  Candidates with 80% or above marks were eligible to apply according to the weightage formula of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). The weightage formula includes the 10 percent of matriculation, 40 percent of intermediate and 50 percent of entrance test marks.

 

As many as 41,677 candidates sat in the entrance test this year from 17 public sector medical colleges and 03 dentals colleges of the province  and 8783 of them were eligible to apply for admission for 3197 open merit seats (3022 MBBS + 175 BDS), 61 under-developed districts’ (49 MBBS +12 BDS) and 20 disabled candidates (19 MBBS + 01 BDS) seats.

 

Students’ top choice for medical colleges remains King Edward Medical University (KEMU) Lahore, and the merit closes at 90.9541 percent. The last merit for Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore remained 89.5494 percent, Services Institute of Medical Sciences, Lahore 88.7922 percent, Fatima Jinnah Medical College, Lahore 88.0255 percent, 87.9255 percent of Ammer-ud-Din Medical College, Lahore, Nishtar Medical College, Multan 87.7377 percent, Rawalpindi Medical College, Rawalpindi 87.2030 percent, Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad 87.1892 percent, Quaid-e-Azam Medical College, Bahawalpur 86.8277 percent, 86.7195 percent of Gujranwala Medical College, Gujranwala, 86.6485 percent Sargodha Medical College, Sargodha, Sahiwal Medical College, Sahiwal 86.3879 per cent, Nawaz Sharif Medical College, Gujrat 86.3706 per cent, Sheikh Zayed Medical College, Rahim Yar Khan 86.3203 percent, Khawaja Mohammad Safdar Medical College, Sialkot 86.2792 percent and D.G. Khan Medical College, D.G. Khan 86.1818 percent.

 

The 3022 open merit MBBS seats were distributed as:  302 of King Edward Medical University Lahore ; 301 of Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore ; 280 of Nishtar Medical College Multan ; 206 of Fatima Jinnah Medical College for Women ; 191 of Services Institute of Medical Sciences ; Punjab Medical College Faisalabad (287); Rawalpindi Medical College Rawalpindi (297); Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Bahawalpur (273); Sheikh Zayed Medical College Rahim Yar Khan (126); Sargodha Medical College Sargodha (79); Nawaz Sharif Medical College Gujrat (90); Sahiwal Medical College Sahiwal (100); Gujranwala Medical College Gujranwala (100); Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College Sialkot (100); Ameer-ud-Din Medical College / Lahore General Hospital Lahore (100); D.G. Khan Medical College Dera Ghazi Khan (100); and Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan Medical College Lahore (90).
