The Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Ihsan Mustafa Yurakul was invited by Iqra University to share his views regarding Pak-Turk relationship. The session was organized by Iqra University Islamabad Campus with collaboration of Pakistan Talk World programme for career building for Pakistani students. The Turkish Ambassador said, ‘the bilateral relationship shared by Turkey and Pakistan have always been good since people of the two countries have similar culture, food and above all strong belief in mutual friendship ‘.

The Ambassador talked in length about Pak-Turk relations and elaborated the history both nations shred. He said that the roots of Pak-Turk relationship started long ago during Ottoman Empire, since then governments of both countries maintained friendly and strategic ties. Even though there are no free trade agreements but still economies of Turkey and Pakistan have benefited from each other. He said Turkish entrepreneurs have keen interest in exploring trade opportunities available in Pakistani market specifically in Pakistan’s textile sector.

Regarding Tourism sector he said Turkish Government issued almost 7,000 visas in 2017 and in 2018 the ratio might increase to 100,000 visas. A large number of Pakistani students are studying in Turkish Universities, each year Turkish Universities receive hundreds of applications from Pakistani students. The Turkish Government is running several scholarship programmes for international and Pakistani students as well.

Federal Minister for Health is Resulted to Give Health Services Academy (HSA) Status of University

Federal Minister for Health expressed about his resolution while speaking at 9th Public Health Conference. He directed (HSA) to design an expansion plan for customizing the Academy into a University. He elaborated the current state of health care in Pakistan and needs of enlisted weaknesses present in Health commissions performance, Health Councils, Drugs Preventions institutes and discussed the measures that could be taken for assurance of quality in health. He said, ‘HSA has capability to tackle and deliver the challenges of human resource in Pakistan’.

Furthermore, he stated, ‘ The availability of health care facilities are not same in every part of Pakistan, to achieve uniformity in health coverage in entire country equally, this gap can only be diminished if facilitate all areas of Pakistan with Insurance programme, Health Cards till 2020’. He said the Field of IT can contribute immensely in development of medical care in Pakistan through new technologies in the health system nationally.’

The medical field in Pakistan has although developed greatly, but still there is much work still undone. Upgrading of HSA will definitely take Pakistan towards development.

Malala Yousafzai to Be given Harvard Award for Promoting Girl’s Education

Malala Yousafzai is set to receive yet another award for her activism and social work. This time she will be receiving The Gleitsman Award from Harvard University for promoting girl’s Education around the world on Thursday. Here to be mentioned Yousafzai has tag of youngest female to ever receive a Nobel Prize. Besides, the recognition and award she will also collect prize of $ 125,000 which is given with the Gleitsman Award.
