The Supply Of Free Textbooks For The New Academic Year Is Starting Regularly From Monday

Government of the Punjab school education department has issued a notification on 5th of June 2020 about the distribution of textbooks to various Tehsils. In the notification it is mentioned that the distribution of free textbooks to public sector schools from various Tehsils warehouses across the Punjab for the academic session 2020-21 is on way. The annual transportation of free textbooks is completed for 128 Tehsils warehouse across the Punjab for Academic session 2020-21.

The Programme Monitoring and Implementation Unit- Punjab, Education Sector Reform Programme and Program Director has ordered the delivery of textbooks to concerned Tehsils warehouses. In the second part of the notification it is further advised to take necessary steps for the distribution of free textbooks to schools from concerned Tehsils warehouses within the respective district by Competent Authority / secretary School Education.

As the school administration department is already allowed by the School Education department of Punjab to open on Monday and Tuesday with minimum staff so it is possible to carry out the same activity class wise at the time of distribution of books and maintaining the social distance.

During the distribution of the textbooks to schools and students the SOPs issued by the School Education Department (SED) must be followed strictly amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Provincial Minister of Punjab for School Education shared the news on his social media. According to this news From June 8, the process of distributing textbooks to government schools at the tehsil level will begin. After that the children will be given books. The books will be delivered to the Tehsils to the competent authority and then further these will be distributed to the schools and students class wise with prior implementation of SOPs ordered by the Government of Punjab.
