The Government Decides To Bring Semester System For Associate Degree

A conference is held by the Punjab Higher Education Commission, PHEC in which the decisions, to establish enhancement cell in the government colleges and to bring semester system in associate degrees, have been taken by the authorities.The conference was organized under the supervision of the PHEC chairperson, Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid. However, Dr. Khalid Aftab, Dr. Arif Butt, Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, Dr. Nazish Attaullah, MPA Sajid Ahmad, and Irum Bukhari (The Additional Chief Secretary of Higher Education Department), had also participated in this conference.  

What Reforms Have Been Decided By PHEC?

PHEC has decided that the monitoring system of associate degrees and honors degrees will be possible in the colleges through quality enhancement cell. The career counselling and scholarship portal have also been approved for college students. The portal will be established under the support of Punjab Information Technology.

Chairperson, while talking to media, revealed that for the preparation of associate degree courses the separate committees have been approved for every single discipline. During the conference, the matter of awarding degrees to students by the sub-campuses had also been discussed. PHEC has also decided to offer proper training to the new teachers in the government universities. Moreover, the approval or leadership tainting program for the newly appointed Vice-Chancellors of the Government Universities is also approved during this conference.
