Summer camps set up in more than 2,000 KPK public sector schools

Peshawar: On Monday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department launched a week-long summer camp, along with the theme ‘popular science’, in over two thousand public sector schools across the province.

As per the issued press release by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elementary and secondary education department, the summer camp will provide the aspirants guidance on daily life science.

During this summer camp, the aspirants will be taught new approaches as well as ideas about every day science.

In the summer camp there will also be fun activities and sports as a part of it.

The programme were launched after the discussions of department along with the large number of private sector institutes, civil society organizations, scientists and hundreds of helpers to make the camp an interesting, informative as well as amusing place for the aspirants.

The inaugural ceremonies in the schools across the province were attended by the officials of government.

The Secretary E&SE Shahzad Khan Bangash at one of the opening ceremonies said, “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department started the summer school initiative last year under the supervision of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Muhammad Atif Khan.”

“The main objective of the summer camp is to promote the extra-curricular activities like life skills, relational communication, learning through fun games, safety as well as rescue ways and building leadership qualities among the aspirants,” he added.

The secretary attended the inaugural ceremony of the summer camps at different schools of Kohat including Government Girls High School Number 3, Government Girls High School Junglekhel, Government Boys Schools Number 1 and Comprehensive School for Boys.

MPA Ziaullah Bangash, commissioner as well as the assistant commissioner of Kohat, the tehsil nazim and also the other representatives were also present at the ceremony along with him.

In Peshawar, a ceremony was organized at Government High School Number 1 Boys Schools Peshawar. District Nazim Peshawar Muhammad Asim, Special Secretary Qaisar Alam together with the director Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department attended the summer camp inaugural ceremony.

The Special Secretary E&SE Qaisar Alam accredited the contribution of all individual volunteers as well as organizations including Pakistan Science Foundation, Khwarzmi Science Foundation, Robo Kids, Pakistan Astronomy Society, Pakistan Science Club, Wonder Tree, Sabaq, Numerica, Robo Miners, Robotics, LearnoBots, Numaish Karachi, Dr Faisal, Maleeha, as well as Usman Group.
