Rawalpindi, More than 100 medical students and young doctors of Rawalpindi Medical College (RMC) protested against the final examination scheduled to be held on September 27 due to the dengue outbreak in the province.  The students gathered outside the RMC and marched towards Rawalpindi- Islamabad Press Club.

Protesters walked with placards with written slogans against Vice Chancellor University of Health Sciences (UHS) professor Dr. Malik Husain Mubashar and university administration. As they have announced exams dates of final year exams despite the Dengue outbreak in the province.

The protesters led by Shahid Iqbal Pasha, Dr Mohammad Haroon, Dr Umer Saeed, Dr Ghulam Abbas and others blocked Tipu Road and Benazir Bhutto Road for two hours creating problems for the commuters.

More than 50 students of different medical colleges in Lahore are affected by dengue fever and they would be unable to appear in the exams. Protestors said, if the exams were not delayed, their career would be at stake as students are facing problems for preparation of the final exams.

Students had approached the management of UHS but they refused to extend the date of exams. Students are worried about their exams as they are not satisfied with their preparation and because of emergency declared in the province.  Students have demanded to extend the examination till November 2011.
