Sindh Has Decided To Make Result Based On Previous Marks If Exams Are Cancelled

Sindh authorities have declared that they would come with an average marks awarding formula for matriculation and intermediate classes if examination session would not be held due to the pandemic Covid-19.

On Monday, the decision was taken during the meeting of Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC). The meeting was attended by all the representatives of seven boards of education established in Sindh. The discussion about the possibility of conducting an examination session has also made. It was decided that conducting the exam with physical distance is a quite hard process because each examination center can bear only 500 to 1000 students. For practicing the physical distance the number of centers should be doubled which will bring the education department in a highly challenging situation.

How the Result Will be Generated

During the meeting, it was decided that in case of further postponement in the examination, the time of the examination session will be shortened to one hour or one and half hour. During this situation, the students will be given an objective type paper only based on multiple choice questions, MCQs.

However, if it would not be possible to conduct exams due to the spread of the Covid-19 then it has decided that the students will be awarded average marks based on the previous result i.e. 9^th class result and 11^th class result. Moreover, students will also be awarded 5% grace marks.

The decision has also sent to the Ministry of Education for final approval. However, it is expecting that the final decision would come to see in the next month after the final meeting of the education department’s steering committee.
