Shajar Kaari Mohim at Govt. College Of Home Economics Lahore

Lahore, On Tuesday, 4th March, 2014 in connection with ‘Shajarkaari Mohim’, of Govt. College of Home Economics, Vice Chairman (PHA) Mr, Iftikhar Ahmad visited the College Accompanied by Principal , Prof, Dr Samia Kalsoom, Vice Principal, Dr Ambreen Sagir, Prof  Mrs. Shaheen Pervez, Mrs. Sagufta Khanam and the students of Housing & Home Management Deptt, Mr. Iftikhar Ahmad planted  Kanak Champa, Molsri and Putajun in the front lawn of the College.
 
Mr Iftikhar Ahmed told the students to know more about suitable seed, favorable weather, proper time of sowing and the daily care of the plants. He also emphasized the importance of kitchen garden. He promised to provide one lac plants to cover the ‘Naala’ present near the outer wall of the college. Addl Director General (PHA)  Mr. Iqbal Hassan, Director( PHA) Mr. Tehseen, PSO  Shehzad Tariq & Assisstant Director( PHA )Abdullah were also present and this occasion.

The Government College of Home Economics, Lahore came into being in 1955 to establish a eminent center of excellence for teaching and research in the area of Home Economics. Since its inauguration the college is linked with the University of the Punjab for the award of a bachelors degree and two years MSc Program in five major programs of Home Economics. Graduate and post graduate diplomas are also offered by the university.

The college offers education besides the problems of food and clothing and also includes many features of family relations, child development, consumer awareness, parental education, institutional management and interior designing.
