The Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) was held on 24th May 2021 to decide the schedule for the commencement of the annual exams of matric and intermediate. It has been decided that SSC and HSSC exams will be conducted after the 20th June 2021 as per the statement issued by the federal minister for education and professional training, Shafqat Mahmood. Earlier it had been announced that the matric and intermediate exams will be held after 15th June. The education minister had said that the priority will be given to the exams of 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th class as the students have to take admission in the colleges and universities. Moreover in the meeting, the education ministers also reviewed the ongoing situation of the pandemic and said that all the provinces can decide the duration of the summer vacations as they see fit.
Schedule For Matric and Intermediate Exams
In the meeting, it has been decided that the examinations will be held and the students will not be promoted to the next class without appearing in the annual exams. All the provinces will decide the schedule for the matric and intermediate exams and informed the candidates about the schedule so that they can prepare for the exams accordingly. Shafqat Mahmood, Chairman Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Committee urged the concerned authorities to announce timely vacations for the teachers and administrative staff. Furthermore, it has been said that the teachers that do not have the vaccination certificate will not be called for the invigilation. According to the federal education minister, the teachers will be vaccinated in priority to reduce the learning loss.
Reopening Of Educational Institutes
Earlier the meeting of the national command and operation center was held in which it had been announced that districts, where the coronavirus positivity ratio is less than 5%, will resume the academic activities from 24th May 2021 whereas the educational institutes in all the other districts will be reopened from 7th June 2021.
