Second anniversary of APS attack observe today

Peshawar: December 16th, 2016 marks the second anniversary of Taliban attack on Army Public School (APS) in the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) that claimed more than 140 lives, mostly students.

The district management of Peshawar has announced a holiday on Friday (December 16th) in honour of the brave martyrs of APS Peshawar.

In an issued notification, Deputy Commissioner of Peshawar, Riaz Mehsud said that all government and private sector educational institutes will remain closed to observe the death anniversary of the students and of teachers.

On the other hand, in Punjab different organizations, particularly educational institutes will arrange various ceremonies to pay tribute to the martyr students.

The seminars as well as ceremonies were also arranged on Thursday at the Lahore Garrison University, Unique Group of Colleges and at other several branches of the school.

In the ceremonies, students and also teachers’ pay homage and rich tribute to those, who lost their lives while studying in APS carnage.

At Lahore Garrison University, the aspirants of all departments sang national anthem as well as other national songs to pay homage to the martyrs.

The students wore uniforms of APS students to show solidarity with the martyrs. Students of Unique Group of Colleges also performed tableau, mimes and also delivered speeches in which they paid glowing tribute to the APS martyrs.

The aspirants of the Punjab University Law College also held a walk in this respect.
