Islamabad: The teachers of government sector schools often complain that their hard work goes unsung; however here is good news for all of them.

The Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD), which manages government sector educational institutes of urban and rural areas in Islamabad through the Federal Directorate of Education, has decided that from the present academic session ahead, it would reward principals as well as teachers of schools with good examination results handsomely.

On the other hand, under-performers will face strict action.

This decision comes in the light of overall poor results of Islamabad schools in the recent 5th class exams.

After the bad performance of Islamabad’s educational institutes in exams, the upset CADD minister, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, had tasked the adviser to the Prime Minister’s Education Reforms Programme, Syed Ali Raza, to thoroughly examining the issues as well as to recommend the corrective measures.

Afterwards, the submitted a report to the minister, who has now willingly given his assent to it as part of the reforms programme being implemented in Islamabad.

The daughter of prime minister, Maryam Nawaz, ‘watches and directs’ the programme through a committee consisting of some MNAs, including CADD minister, and selected officials.

According to the report of Ali Raza, those schools, whose 95% aspirants obtain 80% marks or above in the 5th and 8th class annual exams, will be considered excellent and so the principals and teachers of those schools will be able to get cash prizes, Umrah tickets as well as foreign training.

But, the principals as well as teachers concerned of the schools, whose 90% aspirants obtain less than 45% marks in 5th and 8th class annual exams, will get the notices to explain the cause behind bad performance and strict action will also be taken against them.

On the basis of their explanation, they may face strict punitive action, including stoppage of one pay increment as well as they will be considered non-eligible for promotion.
