Saeed Ghani Says Educational Institutes In Sindh To Remain Open

The Sindh education minister, Saeed Ghani has said that the educational institutes in Sindh will remain open during the smart lockdown. He added that the schools across the province are allowed to follow the 50% attendance policy and the students will attend the schools on alternate days. The government has not planned to again shut down the institutes and instructed the authorities that there should be strict implementation of SOPs devised by the government to save from the coronavirus pandemic.

The minister said that the situation of the COVID-19 is better in Sindh as compared to the other provinces so it is not possible to shut down the institutes, Moreover, the concerned officials have sealed various public and private schools over the violation of coronavirus SOPs. Saeed Ghani stated that the education and health departments are actively monitoring the situation. In the case of an upsurge in coronavirus cases, the educational institutes will be closed. The third wave of the COVID-19 is rapidly spreading due to which the government has announced to close the institutes in the selected areas of Punjab.

Closure of Schools in Punjab

The federal minister for education and professional Training, Shafqat Mahmood had earlier announced to shut down the educational institutes in the various cities of Pakistan. The announcement was made on 10th March and it had been directed that the educational institutes will be closed from 15th March 2021 to 28th March 2021 in various areas that include Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Rawalpindi, Multan, and Sialkot. After this announcement, the Punjab education minister has notified all the public and the private institutes of the province to take the scheduled exams till 19th March 2021. Afterward, the institutes will be completely shut down and in the case of any violation; the educational institutes will be sealed.
