Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif supervised over a high-level meeting which articulated the satisfaction over the progress of attaining the targets of “Parho Punjab-Barho Punjab” under the supervision of Punjab Schools Reforms.

While conversing to the meeting, the chief minister said that the government is walking forward quickly for attaining the educational targets fixed under “Parho Punjab- Barho Punjab” Programme. He expressed the expectation that the target of registration of every child of Punjab in school will be attained through hard work and determination as well. He said that the teachers’ training programme is an important segment of educational reforms roadmap.

Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the attainment of the educational targets and promotion of quality education is impossible without the proper training of teachers. He moreover said that the assistance of British Council is being pursued for the training of teachers. He said employment of teachers been totally made on merit under merit policy of Punjab. CM of Punjab said that attainment of targets of promotion of education is our mutual responsibility. He said that the effective monitoring and the system of punishment and the grant are also necessary for attaining the educational targets. He said that billions of rupees are being spent on the repair and construction of dilapidated buildings of schools.

The chief minister said that the basic educational facilities as well as the attendance of teachers and of the aspirants have now been improved in schools. He said that the delivery of resources for promotion of education is an asset for the bright future of the nation. He moreover added that the quality education is the right of every child our government is offering this right to all the children. He added that there would be no shortage of resources for providing the builders of the nation along with the education. He said that the delivery of transport facilities to the children in rustic areas is also necessary for attaining the educational goals.

The special rep for DFID Sir Michael Barber said that the hard work of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his team under “Parho Punjab-Barho Punjab” Programme are admirable. New Leader of DFID in Pakistan Joanna Reid said that she is so much impressed by the working style of Sharif. She said that the steps of the Punjab government for the raise of quality education are admirable.
