Punjab University to Develop National education Policy

Punjab University will develop a national education policy and present it to the government soon. The former HEC chairman said that there was a dire need to formalize a comprehensive policy to give universities a required design of education according to the demand of government and industry. This policy will deliver an academic design to ensure educating skilled and capable graduates. The policy will be presented within a few months.

Former Chairman of Punjab Higher Education Commission Prof Dr Nizamuddin announced this while attending the first national conference on ‘Education Policy and Development 2019’. The event held at ISCS auditorium on Friday. The theme of the conference was ‘Education for Social Justice and Quality System’. VCs of Pakistan’s top universities, faculty members and students attended the event. PU VC Prof Niaz Ahmad while addressing with the conference said that PU will soon develop national education policy and present it to the Federal Government.

The former HEC chairman said that the government should present its demands to higher educational institutes while designing the national education policy. To develop Pakistan’s economical and industrial sectors, there is need to produce able and skilled graduates.

Pakistan-China Art Exhibition Opened by China Embassy’s CC

The ‘First National Art Exhibition and Competition 2019 on Pak-China Friendship’ held at Sargodha University on Friday. It was organized in Sargodha University in collaboration with Pakistan Council on China (PCC). The exhibition displayed various form of arts. There were miniature, prints, calligraphy, sculptures, special paper-cutting arts, drawings, and paintings.

The chief guest of the event was Director China Cultural Center in Pakistan, You Yi. The event was attended by many people, faculty members, VC of the university and students offine arts courses and programs. The event was success. The attendants applauded the participants and efforts made by Sargodha University’s Institute of Art and Design and Pakistan Institute of China Studies (PICS) for organizing such well presented and high caliber event.

IBA Sukkur will Provide Excess Electricity to SEPCO

Contributing its share to Green and Clean Pakistan, Sukkur IBA University has signed an agreement with Sukkur Electric Power Company (Sepco). Under this agreement IBA will give excess electricity for power utility of 964 KWp produced through clean and renewable energy.

Vice Chancellor Sukkur IBA University Professor Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui said, ‘IBA is the first university in Pakistan which has produced 964 KWp clean and renewable solar energy, keeping pace with the changing climate and energy shortage in the country, the research department of IBA had suggested to the Sindh government to install solar panels near the Sukkur IBA University, which will serve dual purpose.’ He commented this while attending the agreement signing event on Friday.

To be mentioned here, IBA University has been awarded, ‘Green Campus” certification by WWF. The IBA University registrar and professor, Engineer Zahid Hussain Khan said during the event, Our installed capacity of 964 KWp solar power is producing around 150,000 units per months which will save almost Rs 2 million per month of electricity bill’.
