Punjab University BS 4-year exams from Jan 29

Lahore, Punjab University Examination Department has notified that First Semester (Re-sit) Examination, 2012 of B.S 4 Year program will start from Jan 29, 2013 while for the Third Semester the exams will commence from Jan 30, 2013.
 
Meanwhile, California State University USA faculty member, executive member of American Library Association and International Outreach Librarian John Hickok has visited Punjab University Main Library on Thursday. Chief librarian Ch Muhammad Hanif welcomed him.

John Hickok is doing research on Eastern and South Eastern Asian’s libraries from last ten years and this visit to Main Library of the Punjab University was part of his research. John Hickok also visited many sections of the Library and Chief Librarian Ch Muhammad Hanif gave detailed briefing about the various facilities of the library. John Hickok praised the facilities and educational environment and said for the first time he visited such library during his tour to Asia. He also delivered a lecture on latest trends in US libraries on the occasion.

Punjab University, Examinations Department has announced the results of MA Arabic Part-I, annual exam 2012, MA History Part-I, annual exam 2012, MA Philosophy Part-I, annual exam 2012, M.Sc Chemistry Part-I, annual exam 2012 and MSc Physics Part-I, annual exam 2012., MSc Statistics Part-I, annual exam 2012, MS Total Quality management (semester system) session 2007-2009 spring (evening) and MSc (Engg) Metallurgy & Materials Engineering (semester system) session 2010-12.

Punjab University has awarded five PhD degrees in various fields.  The scholars who received degrees are: Saira Taj D/o Taj Muhammad in the subject of Education after approval of her thesis entitled “Assessing the Environmental Literacy of Secondary School Teachers in Punjab”, Usman Hameed S/o Abdul Hameed in the subject of Biological Sciences after approval of his thesis entitled “Molecular Characterization of Resistant and Susceptible Sugarcane Clones to the Red Rot and Ratoon Stunting Disease’’, Sajid Iqbal S/o Muhammad Rafique in the subject of Islamic Studies after approval of his thesis entitled “Contemporary Orientalism on Muhammad’s (PBUH) Life at Makkah-An Analytical Study”, Haroon Hussain S/o Munawar Tahir Hussain in the subject of Biological Sciences after approval of his thesis entitled “Microsatellite DNA Typing for Characterization of Local Cattle Breeds” and Tahir Ahmad Khan S/o Imtiaz Ahmed Khan in the subject of South Asian Studies after approval of his thesis entitled “Economic Implications of Intellectual Property Rights on the Industry of South Asia with Special Reference to Pakistan”.
