Lahore, Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab, after distributing thousands of free laptops in colleges and universities students, has now decided to give solar panels at cost of Rs 2 billion to Matric class students.

According to the spokesman of Punjab Government, The government has intended to give one solar panel and three lights to the ninth grade students, who will get 50 percent numbers in the annual examination.

These revolutionary programs started at a cost of billions of rupees for the youth in the province, are producing positive results, said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif while chairing a high-level meeting in Lahore.

He said programs such as green tractors scheme, laptops, self-employment scheme, buses for colleges, solar panels and bio-gas pilot project had been introduced during the current year.

On the occasion, he also issued instructions to speed up the pace of implementation of youth programs. He said that 20,000 tractors would be given under the Green Tractor Scheme involving Rs 4 billion. He said the consulting process for the scheme would be computerized and obvious while parliamentarians and government servants are not eligible to apply.

The process of distribution of more than 0.1 million laptops among boy and girl students is also being started and students of evening classes will also be given laptops, the Secretary Agriculture informed the meeting.

The chief minister directed the authorities concerned that the laptops should be of the latest model and the boy and girl students of seminaries and vocational institutions should also be included in the scheme.
