Punjab govt to distribute 100,000 laptops to evening, seminary students

Lahore, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that more than 100,000 laptops had been distributed to brilliant students and second phase in this regard was started from Bahawalpur where more than 100,000 laptops would be given to talented students of evening classes as well as seminary students.

He further said that the aim of national progress and prosperity can only be attained through the latest knowledge and the Punjab government has adopted a compact strategy for promotion of modern and quality education.

He said that Pak-Turk schools of Pak-Turk Education Foundation were playing an important role in the promotion of quality education.
 
He was talking to Chairman Pak-Turk Schools Unal Tosur during a meeting on Sunday.

According to the information, Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister Zaeem Qadri said formal launch of the second phase of laptops’ distribution was being started from Bahawalpur on November 7.
 
He said that after Bahawalpur, laptop distribution ceremony would be held in Faisalabad on November 8, in Lahore on November12, in Multan on November 15 and in Rawalpindi on November 16.
 
Zaeem Qadri said 30,000 laptops had arrived for the second phase of the program.

Shahbaz said education was the only way to fast development and the funds spent on education were not expenses but fruitful investment. He said the strategy adopted by Punjab government for the development of education sector and promotion of education had produced positive results.

He said Daanish schools, educational fund, encouragement of brilliant students, setting up of IT labs and laptops distribution scheme were revolutionary steps of the Punjab government and were leaving a positive impact on education sector.
 
He said that just as hundreds and thousands of students were benefiting from IT labs in schools, similarly brilliant students were also gaining knowledge about the changing global trends through their laptops. He said laptops distribution program of the Punjab government was a admirable step.
