Punjab Government Launches Online Portal For Retirement Of Teachers

The Punjab government has launched an online portal for the retirement of teachers. The launching ceremony was chaired by the Punjab education minister, Murad Raas. He said that the school education department has taken this initiative to facilitate the public school's teachers so that they can retire in a completely transparent way. The minister added the nepotism and bribery culture will come to end through this step taken by the provincial government. 

Online Portal For Retirement

Murad Raas stated that previously the school education department had launched the e-portal transfer facility for the schoolteachers and now the retirement facility has been provided. Through the newly introduced system, the school teachers will receive the notification about retirement at home. By the online transfer portal, more than 50,000 transfers of the school teachers have been made. Besides this, the department had also introduced the Private Education Provider Registration and Information System platform for the registration of private schools across the province. According to the SED, the last date to do the registration free of cost is 31st March 2021 and as per the data, more than 30,000 schools had been registered through the online portal. 

Extended Closure Of Schools

While addressing the ceremony the minister has announced that the schools may remain closed for an extended time period due to the increase in coronavirus cases. Earlier it was announced to reopen the educational institutes across the country on 11th January. Now to review the situation of the pandemic the inter-provincial education ministers conference will be held on 4th January to decide the reopening of the schools. The education ministers will take the decision by considering the health situation of the country. On the other hand, the private schools association had earlier announced to reopen the institutes after 10th January without the approval of the government.
