The Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has taken a positive step towards education. The Government of the Punjab has decided to upgrade almost 1227 schools declaring that this up gradation of educational institutes will be done without spending money.
The CM of Punjab has taken this decision of upgrading elementary schools to secondary schools and secondary schools to higher secondary schools for the progress of Punjab and to provide better education facilities to the aspirants.
In the first phase, the elementary schools will be upgraded to secondary level schools. Among these schools to be upgraded, 606 schools are girls schools while 621 are boy’s schools. The CM of Punjab Usman Buzdar has shared these points while heading a meeting at his office regarding the improvements in education sector. The meeting was also attended by Minister School Education Murad Raas, Secretary School Education Sara Aslam and many others.
CM Punjab Usman Buzdar, in the meeting, furthermore said that additional 3315 teachers of elementary schools will continue to serve their services in the upgraded secondary schools. He also added; that the additional staff will continue to serve in the upgraded schools and they will not be transferred.
The government of the Punjab has saved Rs16 Billion through this step by using the available resources.
Moreover, 3933 extra classrooms available in the elementary schools will be used for secondary classes, he said. The Chief Minister of Punjab has also added that almost 1 lakh aspirants will benefit from this up-gradation of elementary schools to the secondary schools level.
Under this Project, in the first phase of construction of two thousands classrooms, the construction of one thousand classrooms has already been done.HE moreover said that, in the second phase, the elementary schools, consisting of nine classrooms as well as six teachers, will be upgraded and the secondary schools level will be upgraded to higher secondary level.
In this regard, the 41 elementary schools in Rawalpindi district have been upgraded already to secondary schools level.
In the same meeting, Minister School Education, Murad Raas said that “The Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for schools are being planned”. He said that “The educational institutes will be given masks and Hand washing arrangements as well as the availability of sanitizers will be guaranteed as well in schools”.
