Punjab Government announces summer vacations schedule

Lahore: In wake of heatwave crosswise the province, Government of Punjab organized a high profile meeting headed by Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashood, which announced that the summer vacations throughout the province will begin from May 24^th, 2016 (Tuesday).

It is important to mention here that at first the summer vacations were to be kicked off from June 1^st, though, because of the heatwaves across the province, the decision is changed after consultation with authorities.

According to the issued notification, all the government and private sector educational institutions in Punjab will remain closed from May 24 to August 15, 2016.

The education department also stated that the private schools will be made to obey the orders in order to save the kids from extremely hot temperature. However, as per the reports, private schools demanded the government to give at least 3-day time to follow these instructions.
