Punjab government announces 100,000 cabs for jobless youth

Lahore: Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Muhammad shahbaz Sharif announced that one lac cabs would be distributed among the unemployed youth under the Orange Cab Scheme this year.

He headed a meeting to launch Orange Cab Scheme and go through the suggestions regarding the use of digital system for the payments.

While approving the digital system for payments, CM of Punjab said that it would regulate smooth flow of transactions, facilitate the community and promote a clear and also corruption-free culture.

“This system will exterminate attempts of fraud as well as counterfeit,” he added while claiming that farmers will also benefit from the digital payments.

The digital system for payments will comprise of E-Cards to provide the numerous services to the consumers.

Moreover, the CM praised the upcoming Orange Cab Scheme started by the Government of the Punjab. He added, “It would increase the employment opportunities across the province. One million young people will benefit from the scheme which will start from this year.”

The Punjab government tweeted in this regard, according to which the government gave 50,000 cars to unemployed youth under Apna Rozgar Scheme.

The government of Punjab led by chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is known for such youth-oriented schemes.

The most popular schemes include Laptop Scheme, Yellow Cab Scheme, Self Employment Scheme and many others.

Though, opponents point out the misplaced priorities, absence of productivity and cash recovery in these projects.
