Punjab Examination Commission PEC SBA 2023

The Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) is an independent organization established by the Punjab Government that conducts assessment exams every year from the students to examine the quality of education in the schools of Punjab. This year, Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) had a meeting on 3rd January 2023 and planned that PEC will conduct the School based Assessment (SBA) for classes 1 to 8 by the district education authorities in the month of March 2023.

PEC SBA 2023 Details:

After the final item bank gets uploaded by the PEC on their website, all the schools will start generating papers by logging into PEC’s IBS system (QR code can also be used to login the IBS). After generating the papers, school’s head or principal will release the date sheet of SBA tests in his or her school and will conduct the SBA test from the students of 1 to 8 classes according to that date sheet. And the schools will also prepare the results/ report cards of the students according to the PEC provided answer keys and rubrics.

PEC SBA 2023 Test Syllabus:

For the classes 1 and 2, the assessment will be conducted orally.
The subject for classes 1 and 2 are Urdu, English, Maths, General Knowledge, Islamiat or Nazra Quran and ethics (the oral bank item for the classes 1nd 2 will also be provided by PEC).
For the classes 3 to 8, the assessment test will be conducted in both objective and subjective form.
The subject for the students of classes 3 to 8 are Urdu, English, Islamiat, Science/ General Knowledge Maths, Social Studies/ History and Geography, Computer Education, Quran Education and Ethics.
All other subject like arts, Punjabi, Farsi, Home Economics etc. assessment test question paper should be generated by the school itself for the classes 3 to 8.
The weightage of objective and subjective will be 50:50 in the 3 to 8 classes’ assessment test 2023.

PEC School Based Assessment Test Result 2023

Creating the results of the PEC School Based Assessment Test will be the responsibility of schools.
Each school of Punjab will generate their own School Based Assessment result.
All schools are advised by PEC to conduct the exams and prepare the results/ reports cards in the time period of 10th March to 25th March 2023.
And the PEC School Based Assessment Test results 2023 will be released on 31st March 2023.

Objective of PEC School Based Assessment Test

The goal and objective of PEC School Based Assessment Test is to assess the quality of education in the primary schools of Punjab province through the outcomes of School Based Assessment result. And according to the School Based Assessment outcomes PEC decides new teaching methods and education standards. PEC also provides training to newly joined teachers to enhance their skills and help them understand the modern assessment methods.
