Lahore (Press Release): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran on Wednesday chaired a high level meeting to review security arrangements on campus and steps taken by security staff. PU Registrar Prof Dr Liaqat Ali, Resident Officer 1 Prof Dr Sajid Rashid, Resident Officer 2 Malik Muhammad Zaheer, Chairman Hall Council Prof Dr Abid Hussain Chaudhry, Advisor to Vice Chancellor Col (r) Ikram Ullah Khan, Chairman Department of Geography Prof Dr Abdul Ghaffar, Acting Treasurer Rao Muhammad Sharif, Chief Security Officer Major (r) Muhammad Saleem, Chief Engineer Chaudhry Muhammad Jamil and others were present on the occasion.

Giving a detailed briefing on security, Dr Sajid Rashid said that the administration would set up OP post at every 300 meters along the boundary wall. He said that around 400 CCTV cameras were already operational on campus while 8 dome cameras were being installed for vigilant monitoring of the university. He said that more than 200 security guards had been given training in collaboration with Lahore police while the university had recently purchased 20 riffles of .223 and 10 pistols of 9mm. He said that strict checking had been ensured at all the entry and exit points while patrolling along the boundary wall and other sensitive places had been enhanced.
