Lahore: University of the Punjab (PU) Board of Faculty of Life Sciences has approved the launching of new 4-years BS degree program in “Molecular Biology & Forensic Sciences” in Centre of Applied Molecular Biology of varsity.
This decision was made in a meeting of the Board of Faculty of Life Sciences that was organized under the Chairmanship of Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naeem Khan. This meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Shahid Kamal, Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Kausar, Prof. Dr. Firdous-e-Bareen, Prof. Dr. Javed Iqbal Qazi, Prof. Dr. Saleem Haider, Prof. Dr. Anjum Naseem Sabri, Dr. Shakeel, Dr. Tayyab Husnain, Dr. Mehjabeen Saleem, Dr. Idrees Khan as well as by other faculty members.
In a meeting while giving the statement, Prof Dr Naeem Khan said that the 4 years degree program was the requirement of the hour as Pakistan was facing terrorism and the advanced techniques and knowledge of forensic sciences played an impressive role in investigation of different crimes.
He moreover said that the degree program will assist in identifying the criminals involved in different sorts of crimes. The health and agriculture sectors will also benefit from the degree program designed on present lines, he added.
