PU organizes security training

Lahore (PRESS RELEASE): Punjab University Hall Council in collaboration with Punjab Police, Bomb Disposal Squad and Civil Defense Department has organized a security awareness, seminar, presentations, rehearsals and practical demonstrations of explosives and briefing of measures to cope with emergency situations in and outside Undergraduate Study Centre. PU Chairman Hall Council Prof Dr Abid Hussain Chaudhry, Registrar Prof Dr Liaqat Ali, DSP Muslim Town Abdullah Jan, a team of experts of Bomb Disposal Squad headed by Nazir Ahmed Kharal, wardens and superintendants of all hostels and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

The experts highlighted various security related issues and gave detailed presentations. Mr Kharal informed the participants about explosives and how to handle such material and what to do when somebody finds such material. The experts also gave a detailed briefing on coping with emergency situations. Talking to media, Dr Abid Hussain Chaudhry said that security teams of each hostels had been formed consisting of hostel wardens, superintendants, employees and students.
