PU ICS three-day international conference begins

LAHORE: (Press Release) Punjab University Institute of Communication Studies in association along with Higher Education Commission and Punjab Government, is arranging a 3-day international conference on "Freedom of Expression: Glocal Politics of Emotions" Monday Nov 2^nd to Wednesday Nov 4th, 2015 at Avari Hotel.

Punjab Governor or the PU Chancellor Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana will be the chief guest of the inaugural session whereas the Education Minister Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan, PU vice chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, Tallat Hussain, Dr. MA Siddique and Prof Dr. Clifford G Christian from US, Dr Elizabeth Eide from Norway, Dr. Fernando Resende from Brazil, Yvonne Ridley from UK are among the prominent international keynote speakers. While Javed Jabbar, Hasan Murad, Dr. Ayesha Leghari, Dr. Sajjad Naseer, Dr. Ahmed Bilal Soofi, Dr Munawar A Anees, and Dr. Bushra H. Rahman, Abida Eijaz, Dr Noshina Saleem are among the national speakers.

Researchers from 9 countries are participating and more than 47 research papers will be presented at Avari the conference. Papers to be presented are on the following topics; Meta narrative of freedom of speech, cyber world and hate speech, respecting life beyond religion and cartoon communication. As many as five international and nine national keynote speakers would address the conference theme.

As many 22 research papers will be presented on the first day (Monday), while 14 papers on second day and 11 papers will be read on the third and last day. The concluding session will be followed by a Sufi Night musical event and the dinner.
