Lahore, The Gujranwala Campus of the Punjab University is going to organize its first convocation on April 24 for the successful graduates of the sessions 2004-2008; 2005-2009 and 2006-2010.

In this regard, the rehearsal will be organized on April 23 at 8.00am. For this purpose registered letters have been issued to all the aspirants to provide their approval till April 16, 2013 to attend the convocation. Without attending the rehearsal ceremony, no candidate will be will allowed to sit in the convocation. For more queries students can contact to PUGC Examinations Department.

Meanwhile, Examinations Department of Punjab University has also issued the date sheet of BS four Years Program for the first semester examination 2013. The exams are scheduled to start from April 25, 2013.

PU has presented three PhD degrees among the researchers of several departments.  The degrees were awarded to Iqbal Hussain Asad S/o Muhammad Ramzan on the subject of South Asian Studies and got approval of his thesis on the topic “Development of Libraries in Pakistan-Bangladesh: A Comparative Study”, Sumrin Sahar D/o Ghulam Nabi Arif in the subject of Zoology after approval of her thesis on the topic “Screening and Molecular Identification of Chloroquine Resistant Genes in Plasmodium Falciparum From Muzaffargarh, Pakistan’’ and Abdus Sattar S/o Muhammad Siddique in the subject of Education after approval of his thesis on “A Comparative Study of Job Satisfaction, Professional Commitment and Classroom Performance of Contractual and Permanent Lecturers at College Level”.

The University of the Punjab was established in 1882 which is the largest and the oldest seat of higher learning in Pakistan. This was the first university established in the sub-continent in Muslim majority area.
