Minister Higher Education and IT Punjab, Raja Yassir has announced to appoint Prof. Dr. Sarfraz Khurshid as a new Vice-Chancellor of the Information Technology University of Lahore. The decision is taken on the recommendation of the search committee constituted by the Higher Education Department and by the directions of the Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan. According to the notification, he has been appointed for four years.

Prof. Dr. Sarfraz Khurshid is currently working as a professor in the University of Texas at Austin. He is known as a great scientist having 9000 citations and more than 3000 publications. He has studied in the world-renowned educational institutes and an alumnus of MIT, Cambridge, Imperial College London, GCUL, and Aitcheson.
