Mardan: The female aspirants of private schools outperformed boys in intermediate annual exams result 2017 declared by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Mardan, on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, the inter result was announced by the relevant board authorities at a special organized ceremony, where the position holders, their parents as well as the locals were also present.

First position in the exams was clinched by Fatima Siddiqui with 1,019 marks. Wajeeha Shah secured second position by obtaining 1,013 marks while Aatika Noor secured third position in the exams by obtaining 1,011 marks.
The top three position holders of science group belong to the Peace School and College, Nowshera Cantt.
In general science group, Hafsa of Nisar Shaheed Intermediate College, Risalpur, secured first position by obtaining 968 marks. Feezan Khattak of Apostle Degree College, Nowshera, clinched second position by obtaining 907 marks while Kainat of FG Girls Inter College, Mardan Cantt, clinched third position by obtaining 866 marks.

In humanities group, Kalsoom a private candidate from district Nowshera secured 935 marks and clinched first position in exams. Hira Ahmad of Noor Education System and School and College, Kheshgi Nowshera clinched second position in exams by securing 893 marks and Romaisa Subhan of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Ikram Pur Mardan, clinched third position in exams by securing 890 marks.
While speaking on the event, the controller examination of board, Mohammad Ali, said total 36,520 students of part-I appeared in the exams out of which 18,463 were declared passed along with the overall passing percentage of 50.56 percent.
He said 32,285 candidates appeared in inter part 2 exams out of which 21,334 were declared successful along with the overall passing percentage of 66.08%.

The chairperson of BISE Mardan board, Dr Shaukat Hayat gave away cash prizes of Rs 50,000 to first position holders, Rs 45,000 to second position and Rs 35,000 to the third position holders of all groups.
During his address he also asked the aspirants to work hard for getting outstanding positions in their academic careers.
