Private medical Colleges in Pakistan are keeping donations records hidden

Series of deformities have been revealed in system of private colleges and universities after CJP’s suo moto notice. The notice was taken after an application filed by a student whose degree was not awarded unduly by The University of South Asia. Now as the events are further unfolding, The Federal Investigation Bureau (FIA) has informed Supreme Court that private have been receiving do medical colleges nations but never registered receipts regarding it. FIA has registered a report but the investigation is still under process. The source of these donations has still not been traced but students of medical colleges have informed FIA about a few details. According to the statements made by students, the private medical colleges are taking donations in hard cash. The students have urged FIA to keep their identity unknown because they have been threatened to face consequences by the administration of medical colleges. FIA has not yet received any written complaint though there have been many complains launched against many medical colleges in apex court. It is stated in the report “The donations were received in the shape of hard cash, no receipt or any proper document was given to the students in lieu of these payments. Students were terrified and reluctant to disclose true picture to the FIA.”

The suggestions in the report made by FIA says that all the collection of tuition fee and admission fee should be submitted collectively in accounts department of University of Health Sciences, Khyber Medical University or the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC). It will be later transferred to private medical college’s accounts. The fee structure should be under the limit prescribed by Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC). Also the fee structures of government and non-governmental institutes should be similar.

The FIA team has been investigating several medical colleges on instructions of Supreme Court. The complaints of not returning refundable security fee have also been recorded and the apex court has given directions to FIA to take action against this matter too. The admissions of the students in private colleges too should be under rules and relations of Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC).

Biometric Attendance System to Be Launched In Sindh University

The University of Sindh has launched biometric attendance system for the employees. Earlier this system was only limited till the Department of Pakistan Studies. Now it has been applied to all departments of the University of Sindh. It is a good initiative by the administration as it will ensure the security of the university.
