'Prime Minister's Tuition Fee Payment Scheme' launches for Balochistan students

Islamabad, Students of Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and FATA will now get the tuition fee for their Masters, MPhil and PhD programs, Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso said.

The scheme has been initiated on the title of PM as "Prime Minister's Tuition Fee Payment Scheme". For this purpose a meeting was organized and was attended by Minister for Professional and Technical Education, Science and Technology and IT Sania Nishtar, representatives of the PM's Secretariat and the Ministry of Professional and Technical Education.

The scheme was sanctioned in June 2012 by the federal cabinet and Rs 500 billion were reserved for this scheme, Sania told the prime minister. According to this scheme the students from Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and FATA will get tuition fee by the federal government to continue their higher education.

The federal government is intended to deliver the impartiality education among students to enhance the education standard in the country. The whole expenses to complete the degree will be bear by the federal government.

The government will accept all educational expenses of around 10,825 students belonged to Balochistan.

The prime minister said that there must be gender equality and the scheme would be available for the next five years.

The PhD students of Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and FATA are eligible to get advantage from this scheme even if they are studying in universities and colleges in any other city or region or in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) has extended the last date for submission of admission form to SMIU Girls Model School and SMIU Boys Model School. Now the application forms can be submitted from April 15 to April 19 while entry test will be held on April 20.

The admissions are offered for limited seats from Class one to five (English-cum-Sindhi medium for boys and girls), from Class VI to IX (Sindhi English medium for girls), Class VI to IX (English-cum-Urdu medium for boys) and Class VI to IX (English-cum-Sindhi medium for boys).
