Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) warn the educational institutes to stop offering unrecognized postgraduate programs to the aspirants, according to council officials.

The official states that the numerous medical as well as dental colleges are offering and also awarding postgraduate courses in spite of the fact that they have not been ordered to do so.

PMDC insists the doctors that if they chooses for admission in a postgraduate medical and dental program, then they must make sure that the postgraduate (medical and dental) programs, diploma or courses offered by that institute are verified and included in the III schedule of PMDC.

The official furthermore said that the aspirants should confirm that the educational institutes and courses are recognized as unrecognized degrees or unrecognized colleges and universities will not be entertained by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council.

Letters by Pakistan Medical and Dental council have already been sent to all the medical and dental degree awarding educational institutes according to the given orders of council.

The future doctors are strictly advised to stay away from admitting themselves in unrecognized medical programs.

The official of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council also advises the aspirants to certify the college or the course they prefer to take should be recognized, as it is in interest of the two parties; the aspirants and administration.

He also added that all the information about the educational institutes and the courses they offer are available on the official website of council, which makes fact-checking enough convenient for students.

In case of any misfortune about this issue, PMDC can no longer be taken into consideration.

At the end, the official said that the advertisement of an unrecognized course is a clear disobedience against the law, and the head of the educational institute could face custody from 1 year to 5 years and could be fined from 5 million Rupees to 10 million Rupees.
