Peshawar varsity signs MoU with Korean institutes

Peshawar, The University of Peshawar (UoP) has signed agreements with 12 universities and research institutes in South Korea to introduce jointly beneficial educational and cultural exchange programs.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between presidents and vice chancellors of the South Korean institutes and UoP Vice Chancellor Prof Qibla Ayaz during his recent visit to South Korea.

These mutual research activities and the exchange of faculty are also expected in this new partnership. South Korean educational institutes participating including the Korea University of International Studies, Hannam University and Sookmyung Women’s University.

The Centre for Disaster Preparedness and Management (CDPM) at the University of Peshawar is going to hold a two-day disaster management exhibition starting from November 7.
 
CDPM Director Dr Amir Nawaz Khan said the exhibition will be organized in view of the need and importance of enhanced coordination in the field of disaster preparedness and management.
 
The exhibition is being arranged in association with the Pakistan Science Foundation and ACF-International Pakistan at the University of Peshawar, Dr Amir Nawaz Khan said. He said the exhibition will be held with the aim of developing coordination between organizations and institutions working in the field of disaster preparedness and management in addition to providing a common platform to different organizations and institutions for sharing their work experiences.
 
The director said that so far more than 50 organizations and institutes dealing with disaster preparedness and management had registered for the event. He said that consultant disaster management practitioners from all over the country and abroad would participate in the event.
