Haripur: On Thursday, Peshawar High Court suspended a notification issued by the Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for holding assessments of the students of 5th and 8th classes.

A plea challenging the notification was filed by the Private Education Network (PEN), an association of private-sector schools working across the province (KPK).

Thus, PHC had issued notifications to the related authorities to file their replies.

Though, the authorities of the relevant departments, failed to submit any reply within the given period of time which forced the court to suspend the notification.

As per the suspended notification, assessments for class 5th and class 8th were to be organized under Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Peshawar (BISE Peshawar).

The chief of Private Education Network, Saleem Khan said that they had exhausted all the choices before filing an appeal against the government.

“Along with this governing, the court has saved the future of the children. We will continue to work for the progress of education across the province, he said.
