Almost 50 Information Technology companies based in Hyderabad, India have come under attack by Pakistani hackers in the last ten days. Most of the organizations who have been attacked are said to be dealing along with finances.
According to the report by Times of India, the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC), consisting of the top IT companies and police of Hyderabad, told the media regarding these attacks on Thursday.
According to them, Pakistani hackers were utilizing the servers based in Turkey, Somalia and Saudi Arabia to hide their unique identities.
They changed their servers after every 5 minutes, which made it enough difficult for the authorities to find their location.
Though, a group of ethical hackers working together with SCSC were able to track their location to Pakistan.
Most of the affected companies were those who were dealing along with finances. Hackers stopped their dealings and encoded all of their data.

One of the companies, whose data was sealed out by the hackers, was asked for near on 1 lakh bitcoins (amounting to almost Rs 670 Crore) as deal.
These sorts of attacks demanding payment in exchange of data are not new. The same attacks on the data of Indian banks resulted in some of them paying payoff amount of almost 8000 bitcoins (almost Rs 50 Crore) to get access back to their data.
Even paying that amount did nothing helpful as the data was not decryptable.

Keeping in view these earlier incidents, SCSC has advised all the affected companies to stay away from paying any payoff.
It is also framing a strategy to assist the along with the guidelines on what can be done in case of these attacks.
