Lahore: The Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Punjab will set up the first ever technical and vocational training university of Pakistan in Punjab in association along with the Chinese Tianjin University of Technical Education (TUTE).

According to the representative of TEVTA, the agreement for the establishment of University of Technical and Vocational Education (UTVE) was signed by the chairman of TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh and the president of TUTE President Liu Xin.

The chief minister of Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahabaz Sharif and School Education Minister Rana Mashood were also present in the signing ceremony.

As per the signed agreement, 9 degree courses will be offered at university, including information technology (IT), automobile, electronics, mechanical mechatronics, management science, advanced Chinese Language, educational training and 3D printing technology.

The agreement reads that the TUTE will share its experience for the set up and the functioning of the new university, including the syllabuses and discipline establishment, development of main courses, syllabuses development and revision, establishment of laboratories and also the training of trainers, along with the expenditures covered by TEVTA.
