Pakistan’s first Social and Creative Incubation Programme Held at NUML University Islamabad

The first ever Social and Creative Incubation Programme in Pakistan held at on Wednesday. The programme was launched with collaboration and support of British Council. NUML University, Islamabad

Cranfield School of Management, UK and Centre for Global Innovators Company of Islamabad have helped in designing and delivering this programme in two Pakistani universities namely NUML Islamabad and Lahore College for Women University. While addressing the event VC of NUML University said that Pakistan needs over 2 million jobs every year which can only be achieved if public and private sector joins hands and work side by side.

Through this initiative of Social and Creative Incubation Programme students are given a platform to project their creative ideas to firms to get funds and start their businesses or execute their creative ideas into practical shape. At end of the event, VC of NUML University presented shields to chief guests and panel speakers. Other prominent officials who attended the event include NUML Director General Brig Muhammad Ibrahim and Lahore College for Women University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Farkhanda Manzoor.

Conferences to Promote Message of Sufis and Saints held At Various Pakistani Universities from Jan 28 to Jan 30

The first conference with the title of’ Message of Peace and Sufi Poetry’ was held on Monday at GCU, Lahore. It was organized in collaboration with University of Gujrat and Higher Education Commission, Islamabad. The core aim of organizing the events was to promote the teachings of sufis and saints among university students. In the wake of ongoing unfortunate events of terrorism, extremism, violence, intolerance, hatred, racism and disputes in universities of Pakistan, it was imperative to spread the message of peace and brotherhood preached by sufis and saints of the country through their poetry.

The second seminar in the series was titled,’ Role of Women in Countering Violent Extremism and Promoting Peace in Pakistan’, it was held on Monday at University of Lahore (UoL).This seminar was organized with collaborations of Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) and International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI. The motive was to invoke and charge female students to play their due role in eliminating terrorism and extremism from the country. The students attended the seminar in large scale and it was a huge success.

The next conference was titled,’ ‘Paigham-e-Pakistan and Message of Peace in Sufi Poetry’ held on Tuesday at University of Management Technology (UMT), Lahore. The organizers of this event were UMT department of Islamic Studies in collaboration with the department of Islamic Studies, University of Gujrat, and the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad. As the title suggests, the poetry of sufis with the message of peace was recited and its implication and impact was discussed.

Another conference titled,’ Message of Peace in Sufi Poetry’ held on Wednesday at Government Islamia College, Kasur. All the conferences had similar motive of promoting and reviving the contributions of Sufis in prevailing peace in the region. The faculty members, students and prominent attendants of the conferences agreed on the same notion that Pakistan came into being due to sacrifices of Sufis. Their teachings can invoke sense of solidarity among the nation.
